Seph Valoren, LSW

I am a resident clinician who has worked in community mental health for more than 10 years in environments as varied as hospice care, juvenile group homes, sexual assault crisis support, and justice-involved individuals. I was raised in a working-class home in northern California and became involved in politics, environmental activism, and community organizing at a young age. These experiences complement my formal education in behavioral science and social work, focusing on clinical therapeutic applications with clients identifying with LGBTQ+, kink, ethical non-monogamy, and ‘geek’ culture. Outside of my practice, I teach sociology and psychology at a Delaware Technical Community College.  In my free time I enjoy travel, museum-going, cooking, spending time with my dog, and fiction writing.

As a therapist, I’ll work collaboratively with you to focus on the change you want to see in your life, identify the barriers standing in your way, and serve as a guide, supporter, and source of empowerment toward understanding and overcoming those obstacles. Typical sessions with me include a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Rogerian, Client-Centered Therapy. My goal is for my clients to leave each session feeling heard, understood, and making progress toward becoming the person you want to be.

Feeling stuck? Life can be hard sometimes. I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a psychotherapy that, unlike traditional talk-therapy, enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. As an EMDR trained therapist, I provide EMDR therapy to all ages to address stuck memories and help to reorganize past thoughts, feelings and memories that are related to atraumatic event that can oftentimes keep us hooked or stuck from moving forward in work & relationships, preventing us living our best lives. You are worth it and you ARE capable of healing!

With over 4 years in the field of Mental Health, I am a trained School Counselor with a Masters in Education. I provide mental health counseling services in the school setting and to adults and couples virtually.

As a witness to generational trauma, domestic abuse and addiction, I am here to provide you hope for a better tomorrow, to help process trauma from life situations that may not have been fully with in your control. I'm here for you!

Rainbow-Wolf (Christi) Sabin, LSW

Feeling stuck, lost, confused, frustrated, or unmotivated? You are not alone. We all need help sometimes, and it takes a lot of courage to take that first step and seek out that help. My passion for this work comes from my own personal struggles with mental health, so I understand how challenging it can be to start on the path to healing.

I identify and work with those in the queer/trans/LGBTQIA+, kink/BDSM and poly/ENM/CNM communities. It’s important to have a safe space where you don’t have to expend emotional labor explaining certain aspects of your lifestyle or identity—where you can solely focus on your goals and just being your most authentic self. I work with teens and adults aged 14 and older as well as couples. I will work with you on looking at the different aspects of yourself and your life as pieces of a puzzle to put together. This involves looking at your emotions, thoughts, behaviors, in addition to the mind-body connection through a variety of techniques including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), positive psychology, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, emotional freedom technique (EFT, aka “tapping”), and more. I also acknowledge that a person is not separate from their environment, so another part of our work together will explore how external influences have an impact on you. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, so I will tailor my work to your specific preferences and needs. I specialize in working with those experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress, life transitions/existential crisis, perfectionism, relationship issues, and issues or concerns surrounding identity, dysphoria, transitioning and/or coming out.

Tending to your mental health takes time, patience, and a willingness to be vulnerable. Exploration, as difficult as it may be, will empower you to embody who you are. Change doesn’t occur overnight, but it’s always possible. You don’t have to walk this path alone. I’d be honored to take that first step together. I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation with me today.
